DELHI, NY — A Hancock man faces a criminal contempt charge after allegedly contacting a protected person while incarcerated at the Delaware County Correctional Facility.
James Procak, 38, was arrested April 15, 2026, according to Sheriff Craig S. DuMond.
Sheriff’s deputies were notified April 8, 2026, by correctional facility staff that Procak had been calling and sending messages to a person listed on an order of protection previously served to him.
Procak was charged with criminal contempt in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
He remains held at the Delaware County Correctional Facility and was issued an appearance returnable to Delhi Town Court at a later date.
