PENN YAN, NY — A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant April 12, 2026.
Robert T. Sherlock, 58, of East Syracuse was arrested by the Penn Yan Police Department on a warrant issued out of Yates County Superior Court for three counts of criminal contempt in the first degree and one count of aggravated family offense.
Officers were contacted by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office advising they were holding Sherlock on unrelated charges and he would be getting released.
Officers responded to the Onondaga County Public Safety Facility and took Sherlock into custody.
He is accused of contacting a person who had an order of protection against him.
Sherlock was processed and transported to the Yates County Jail to await arraignment.
Sherlock posted bail on the charges and was taken back into custody on a bench warrant issued out of Auburn City Court.
Sherlock was turned over to the custody of the Auburn Police Department to answer on those charges.
