Three arrested in stabbing, assault at Atlantic City resort

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — Three people have been arrested following a stabbing and assault at the Showboat Resort earlier this month.

Patrol officers responded to the resort at 10:37 p.m. on April 5 in reference to a stabbing incident.

Officers located a 38-year-old woman from Severn, Maryland, who had been assaulted.

She was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers learned that a man had been stabbed but fled the area before police arrived.

The man, Quheem Whitehead, later arrived at the medical center suffering from a non-life-threatening injury.

An investigation led by Detective Gissel Garcia with assistance from Detective Christopher Campbell led to criminal charges for Whitehead, Marquita Wilson and Kiandre Harris.

After an initial verbal altercation, Whitehead chased the female victim and struck her numerous times in the head, causing her to fall.

After falling, Wilson kicked the victim in the face multiple times.

During the assault, Harris stabbed Whitehead twice in the back with a pocketknife.

Whitehead and Wilson were arrested on April 9 in Newark, New Jersey, by members of the United States Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force Atlantic City and Newark Divisions.

Harris was arrested on April 15 in Maryland by members of the United States Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force Baltimore Division.

Kiandre Harris, 31, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and certain person not to possess a weapon.

Quheem Whitehead, 38, of Newark, New Jersey, was charged with aggravated assault.

Marquita Wilson, 41, of Newark, New Jersey, was charged with aggravated assault.

The three will be remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
