Man arrested on assault charges in Ravena

RAVENA, NY — State Police arrested a New Baltimore man April 12, 2026, after he allegedly struck a person twice with his vehicle following an argument.

Saul Stanley, 46, of New Baltimore, was charged with attempted assault in the first degree, a class C felony, reckless endangerment in the first degree, a class D felony, assault in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor, and a vehicle and traffic law violation.

Troopers responded to the area of State Route 9W at about 11:55 a.m. for a report of a disturbance.

The investigation determined Stanley was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim.

Stanley reportedly got in his vehicle following the argument and drove recklessly, allegedly intentionally striking the victim twice with his vehicle.

The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Stanley was located at his home and arrested.

He was transported to State Police New Scotland for processing.

Stanley was then transported to the Albany County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
