AMSTERDAM, NY — A 32-year-old man faces felony charges after state police say he promoted and possessed images of child sexual exploitation.
Erick J. Dejesus Rosa, of Amsterdam, was arrested April 8, 2026, and charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.
State Police of Fonda made the arrest with assistance from the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Amsterdam Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The investigation began after a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Police executed a search warrant at Dejesus Rosa’s residence in Amsterdam on April 8, 2026.
Dejesus Rosa was processed at State Police Fonda and arraigned at Amsterdam City Court.
He was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash, $10,000 bond or a $50,000 partially secured bond.
