Woman arrested on trespassing, assault charges in Mendon

MENDON, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a woman April 8 after she allegedly entered an occupied home without permission.

Troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded to a burglary in progress on Brookwood at approximately 11:04 a.m.

An investigation determined that Marlana Gibeault, 53, of Rutland Town, had entered a dwelling house without license or privilege to do so, police said.

The victim was identified as Leslie Doenges, 41, of Mendon.

Gibeault was taken into custody and transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.

After processing, Gibeault was transported to Marble Valley Correctional Facility.

Gibeault was charged with unlawful trespass into an occupied dwelling and simple assault.

Vermont State Police were assisted on scene by Rutland Town Police Department, Rutland City Police Department with K9 Nash, and Regional Ambulance Services.
