GREECE, NY — A Rochester man has been arrested in connection with a jewelry theft at Greece Ridge Center Mall.
Officers responded to a burglary at Monarch Jewelers inside the mall at approximately 8:15 a.m. on April 4, 2026.
The suspect entered through an employee corridor while most stores were still closed and attempted to access jewelry behind the kiosk counter, according to the Greece Police Department.
When unsuccessful, he used a tool to smash a glass display case and stole multiple gold necklaces valued at approximately $70,000.
Surveillance footage showed the suspect leaving the mall in a gray 2020 Nissan Altima.
Officers identified the vehicle and its registered owner through investigation.
On April 7, 2026, Irondequoit Police detained the suspect after a pawn shop owner reported that he was attempting to sell jewelry believed to have been stolen from Monarch Jewelers.
Victor Maisonet, 26, of Rochester, was taken into custody.
Stolen jewelry was recovered from Maisonet’s person, and additional items and cash were located inside his vehicle.
Maisonet was charged with burglary in the third degree, grand larceny in the second degree and criminal mischief in the second degree.
He was transported to the Monroe County Jail for arraignment.
