Four arrested in Greece shooting investigation

GREECE, NY — Four people have been arrested in connection with a shooting on Castleford Road that damaged a residence while several people were inside.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots at approximately 1:06 a.m. on April 5, 2026.

No injuries were reported.

Officers used residential surveillance cameras and the town’s License Plate Reader network to identify a vehicle involved in the incident that had been reported stolen from Penfield.

Rochester police located the stolen vehicle unoccupied on Kondolf Street on April 6, 2026.

Greece police conducted surveillance and later attempted to stop the vehicle, resulting in a pursuit that ended on Cameron Street in Rochester.

A 16-year-old Rochester resident was taken into custody following a brief foot chase.

Detectives identified a second vehicle connected to the incident on April 7, 2026.

Rochester police conducted a traffic stop and detained multiple individuals.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for a residence on Haviland Park.

Members of the Greece Police SWAT Team executed the search warrant at approximately 2:00 p.m. and detained additional individuals.

Detectives recovered a privately manufactured Polymer80 9mm handgun believed to have been used in the shooting.

Three juveniles, ages 17, 16 and 15, have been charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree and prohibited use of a weapon.

Jose Ortiz, 22, of Rochester, has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree and prohibited use of a weapon.

The juveniles were held in secure detention.

Ortiz was transported to Monroe County Jail and arraigned in CAP Court.
