WEST SENECA, NY — A Buffalo man was arrested after he allegedly attacked and robbed a woman in front of multiple witnesses.
The incident occurred outside the victim’s home on March 31.
The 32-year-old offender is alleged to have approached the victim, punched her, closed his hands around her throat obstructing her breathing, taken her cell phone as she attempted to call 911 and cast it aside, and forcibly taken $50 cash from her before fleeing.
The victim’s mother, child, and a neighbor witnessed the attack.
Officers located the offender a short time later inside the smoke shop at Seneca Street and Stephenson Avenue, and took him into custody.
He was charged with Robbery in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
He was arraigned by a judge and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center.
