MCKEESPORT, PA — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man who was struck by gunfire while sitting on a couch inside his home.
At 9:59 p.m. on March 29, County 9-1-1 was notified of a shooting on Abraham Street in McKeesport.
First responders found an adult male, identified as Kurtis Shaw, 37, of McKeesport, shot inside his home.
Shaw later died at the hospital.
Detectives determined more than a dozen shots were fired from outside the house and Shaw was struck multiple times while sitting on a couch inside.
Through their investigation, detectives determined the suspect fired into the home and fled in a stolen vehicle that was later recovered by McKeesport Police.
At this time, detectives do not believe Shaw was the intended target of the shooting.
Detectives have also learned the home was struck by gunfire the night before Shaw was shot and killed.
Detectives continue to investigate this case and are asking for the public’s help in identifying anyone involved in the shooting.
