AUBURN, NY — A Throop man was arrested after allegedly violating an order of protection by calling his former significant other.
Officers responded to an address in Auburn at approximately 2 p.m. March 27 for a reported order of protection violation.
The protected party reported receiving phone calls from her former significant other.
Officers began an investigation and determined that L. Jason Barned, 48, of Throop, had called the victim and violated the stay away order of protection.
At approximately 5:21 p.m. the same day, New York State Police made contact with Barned on an unrelated matter.
Barned was taken into custody and transported to Auburn Police Department headquarters where he was processed.
He was then transported to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.
Barned was charged with criminal contempt in the second degree, a misdemeanor, and aggravated family offense, a felony.
