Woman arrested on welfare fraud charges in Auburn

AUBURN, NY — A Waterloo woman was arrested on welfare fraud-related charges on March 24, 2026.

Nicole L. Boulanger, 32, of Waterloo, was taken into custody by members of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office on an arrest warrant.

The warrant charged Boulanger with welfare fraud in the fourth degree, grand larceny in the fourth degree, and misuse of food stamps exceeding $1,000.

The cases were investigated by members of the Cayuga County Department of Social Services Case Integrity Unit with assistance from the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office.
