ONEONTA, NY — A 20-year-old man faces multiple felony charges after authorities say he uploaded child sexual abuse material to internet servers.

Diego Jose Hernandez Martinez, of Oneonta, was arrested March 26 by Otsego County Sheriff’s Office investigators.

He is charged with seven counts of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child and 32 counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child.

Sheriff’s investigators were assigned seven cyber tips on Feb. 4 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Google and X.AI reported to the center that suspected child sexual abuse material had been uploaded to their servers.

Investigators executed multiple search warrants with assistance from the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, which identified Hernandez Martinez as the individual responsible for uploading the material to his internet accounts.

Investigators determined Hernandez Martinez is an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador.

He was taken into custody without incident in the town of Oneonta.

Hernandez Martinez was processed and lodged in the Otsego County Correctional Facility to await centralized arraignment.

The case will be heard in City of Oneonta Court.
