CHURUBUSCO, NY — Two men abandoned a pickup truck and fled into Canada on Wednesday after U.S. Border Patrol agents responded to a report of suspicious activity near the international boundary.
Swanton Sector Border Patrol agents were dispatched around midday after receiving a report of two subjects walking north toward Canada.
Agents located two males matching the descriptions provided by Swanton Sector Dispatch near a pickup truck stuck in a ditch on the International Boundary.
One individual was observed attempting to free the vehicle when agents arrived.
As agents approached, both subjects abandoned the truck and their luggage and fled north into Canada.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police was notified and responded to the scene, but the subjects had already fled the area.
RCMP was unable to make contact with the individuals.
