Employee arrested on theft charge in Auburn

AUBURN, NY — An employee of SK Post was arrested after an investigation into stolen lottery tickets from the business.

Thomas E. Crawford III, of Auburn, was charged with grand larceny, a felony, on March 24.

Auburn police began investigating after SK Post, located at 168 State St., reported Feb. 18 that an employee had been stealing from the business.

Investigators determined Crawford stole several instant win lottery tickets, known as Pull Tabs, plus proceeds from winning tickets on numerous occasions while working at the store.

The total value of the stolen lottery tickets was $2,079.50.

Crawford was processed and released on an appearance ticket.
