EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing autistic juvenile who ran away from his home Thursday evening.
Joel Medina ran away from his home in the area of 4th Avenue behind the Shore Mall off of West Jersey Avenue.
He is believed to be in the Egg Harbor Township area near the Shore Mall.
Medina stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 156 pounds.
He has dark eyes, black hair and a medium skin tone.
He was last seen wearing black, white and red Jordan sneakers, black shorts and a black t-shirt.
As of 10:52 p.m. Thursday, Medina remained missing after an exhaustive search.
The search involved multiple Egg Harbor Township and neighboring jurisdiction officers, detectives, EMS personnel, county sheriffs, Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office detectives with drones, state Office of Emergency Management, Atlantic County Office of Emergency Management, search and rescue teams from Atlantic, Gloucester, Camden and Cumberland counties with Cape May County on standby, K9s, bloodhounds, State Police and Coast Guard helicopters.
Police are asking all residents living in the area to check the surroundings around their homes and review any security camera footage.
