WILLOW GROVE, PA — A 38-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he solicited a minor for sexual acts and explicit photos.
Deren Thach, of Ambler, was charged with several counts of sexual abuse of children, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor.
Abington Township police received information in December that a male suspect was soliciting a minor female for sexual acts and nude or sexually explicit photos in the Willow Grove section of the township.
Investigators identified Thach as the suspect and learned there were other minor female victims, according to police.
On March 6, police executed a search warrant at Thach’s apartment in Ambler.
Digital evidence was seized and analyzed for child sexual assault material and other evidence, police said.
A warrant was issued for Thach based on the findings.
Thach turned himself in to the Abington Township Police Department on March 12 and was arraigned by District Justice Jodi Griffis, who set bail at $100,000 cash.
The investigation was conducted jointly by the Abington Township Police Department, Ambler Borough Police Department and Warwick Township Police Department and remains ongoing.
