GREECE, NY — Officers arrested two people and recovered a stolen vehicle following a license plate reader alert on March 11.
Police received the alert at approximately 4:15 p.m. for a stolen vehicle in the area of Mt. Read Boulevard.
The vehicle was a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze reported stolen from Batavia on March 9.
Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at West Ridge Road and Dewey Avenue.
Both occupants were taken into custody.
Eric M. Smith, 40, of Batavia, was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle in the 2nd degree due to a prior conviction.
Kassandra Roberts, 31, of Rochester, was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle in the 3rd degree.
Smith was issued an appearance ticket and turned over to New York State Troopers.
Roberts was issued an appearance ticket.
Both will appear in Greece Town Court at a later date.
