LEWISTOWN, PA — A Lewistown man was arrested early Friday after police say he strangled a woman during a domestic dispute.
Larry Anderson, 45, of Lewistown, was taken into custody at 1:39 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of West Market Street after officers responded to a 911 call.
Police said Anderson called 911 yelling that he was not the bad guy.
Officers identified Anderson from a similar recent incident and responded to his address, where they made contact with a female who reported that Anderson assaulted her.
The woman told police Anderson was saying slurs about her appearance and threatened to kill her if she did not “shut up.”
Police said Anderson grabbed the woman from behind and wrapped his arm around her neck, squeezing until she could no longer breathe.
Officers observed scratches on Anderson’s hands from where the woman was scratching him trying to get him to release her.
Anderson was intoxicated at the time of his arrest, police said.
He was charged with strangulation, terroristic threats, simple assault and abusing the 911 communications system.
