FORT COVINGTON, NY — A Fort Covington man was arrested on an animal cruelty charge Friday afternoon.
Trenton K. Yancey, 28, was taken into custody by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 2:02 p.m. Feb. 27, 2026.
Yancey was charged with torture/injure/not feed animals under Agriculture and Markets Law Section 353, a misdemeanor.
Authorities said Yancey deprived a dog of necessary food and water.
Yancey was processed at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and released on an appearance ticket.
He is scheduled to appear in Fort Covington Town Court at a later date.
