MCKEESPORT, PA — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man found dead at a cemetery entrance.
County 9-1-1 was notified at 10:44 a.m. on Feb. 17 of an unresponsive male at the Pirl Street entrance of the McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.
McKeesport Police responded and discovered Daniel Smith deceased at the scene with a gunshot wound to the head.
The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the case.
Detectives believe the shooting occurred in the evening hours of Feb. 16, potentially between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Detectives are working to identify potential suspects and are asking anyone with information on Smith’s death to contact the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
