Vehicle forces driver off road in St. Albans

ST. ALBANS, VT — Vermont State Police are searching for a driver who forced another vehicle off Interstate 89 during a road rage incident Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. on the Exit 20 off-ramp.

Brian Hathaway, 40, of Fairfax, was driving northbound when his vehicle was sideswiped and forced off the roadway.

Hathaway suffered minor injuries and his vehicle was heavily damaged.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a dark-colored Audi SUV with a roof rack, according to dash camera video and photographs.

The vehicle fled the scene after the crash, traveling east on Highgate Road toward the Swanton/Highgate area.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or the suspect vehicle to contact the Vermont State Police St. Albans Barracks at 802-524-5993.
