JAMESTOWN, NY — Three people face drug charges following a traffic stop and subsequent search warrant execution on Feb. 13, 2026.
Members of the Jamestown Police Department conducted a traffic stop at about 1 p.m. in the area of Prendergast Avenue and Price Street.
The vehicle was occupied by Miranda E. Evans and Jeremy E. Thompson.
During the traffic stop, Thompson attempted to destroy evidence and flee from the scene but was quickly taken into custody.
A search of Evans, Thompson and the vehicle was conducted.
Police recovered approximately 10.7 grams of cocaine, 10.5 grams of crack cocaine, 3.3 grams of fentanyl, 35.1 grams of methamphetamine and $1,373.
At about 2 p.m., the Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team made entry into a residence on Water Street.
Andrew C. Butts Sr. was located inside the residence by the SWAT Team.
After the residence was secured, detectives searched the residence and located 517.9 grams of methamphetamine, cutting agents, packaging materials and digital scales.
Thompson is charged with various counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, criminally using drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest and attempted escape.
Evans is charged with various counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, criminally using drug paraphernalia and aggravated unlicensed operation.
Butts is charged with various counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Thompson, Evans and Butts were arraigned in Jamestown City Court.
Thompson and Evans were released, and Butts was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail.
