SALINA, NY — New York State Police arrested a Syracuse man on rape and assault charges following a domestic dispute on Feb. 16, 2026.
Troopers responded to 10 Wilbert Drive in the Town of Salina at approximately 9:45 p.m. for a reported physical domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, troopers located a female victim who reported she had been assaulted and forcibly raped inside the residence.
The suspect, Felix S. Geel, 43, of Syracuse, was located inside the home and taken into custody without incident.
The victim was transported to Upstate University Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
An investigation was conducted by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Lafayette.
Geel was charged with rape in the first degree, a class B felony; criminal mischief in the third degree, a class E felony; assault in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor; and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, a class A misdemeanor.
Geel was processed at State Police North Syracuse and transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center.
He was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Part of the Court on Feb. 17, 2026, and was remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center without bail.
