PORTSMOUTH, NH — A man was found unresponsive with serious injuries in a bookstore parking lot Tuesday morning.
Portsmouth Police and Portsmouth Fire Department responded to 1070 Lafayette Road, the parking lot of the Antiquarian Bookstore, after a passerby noticed the unresponsive man around midday.
Upon arrival, emergency responders located the man and found he had serious injuries.
Police said the injuries appear to be from a self-inflicted gunshot.
The Portsmouth Fire Department transported the man to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Due to the extent of his injuries, he was then transported via med-flight to a Boston area hospital.
The man’s identity is not being released at this time.
The Investigative Division of the Portsmouth Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
