BATH, NY — A Bath man turned himself in to police after allegedly damaging an Amazon delivery van during a road rage incident last month.
Eric J. Jackson, 43, of Bath, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony, on Feb. 5, 2026.
The incident occurred on Jan. 28, 2026, at approximately 6 p.m. on Haverling Street in the Village of Bath.
A Bath police officer responded to a report of a road rage incident involving an Amazon driver and another motorist.
The Amazon driver told police the other party had left the scene before officers arrived.
The driver said the suspect became upset over a traffic incident involving the two vehicles and stopped the Amazon van in the middle of the road.
The suspect exited his vehicle and approached the Amazon van, which is owned by a private company, and was irate toward the driver.
The suspect damaged the hood of the vehicle before fleeing the scene.
The damage to the vehicle exceeded $1,500.
Officers reviewed dash camera footage provided by Amazon and identified the suspect.
Jackson was processed on the charge and transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP court.
