ANSON, ME — A fire at a Winter Street home Saturday afternoon has been ruled accidental by investigators.
The fire was reported at 4 Winter Street at approximately 1 p.m. Saturday.
Fire crews from Anson, Madison, Starks, Solon, Skowhegan, Norridgewock and Farmington responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire.
Investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s Office assisted the Anson Fire Department with the investigation.
The cause of the fire was determined to be a malfunction of a kitchen stove.
No occupants were home at the time of the fire.
One firefighter sustained minor injuries while operating at the scene.
Several household animals perished in the fire.
