FRANKLIN COUNTY, VT — A former middle school teacher faces an aggravated sexual assault charge stemming from alleged repeated sexual contact with a student from 2007 to 2009.

Ashley Goodwin, 43, of Enosburg, was cited Friday following an investigation by the Vermont State Police Northwest Unit for Special Investigations.

The investigation began Nov. 18 when NUSI received a report of a sex offense that allegedly occurred while Goodwin was a teacher at Enosburg Middle School.

The allegations involve repeated sexual contact with a student who was 14 years old when the contact began, according to state police.

Goodwin, who is no longer a teacher, was processed at the state police barracks in St. Albans and released on a citation.

She is ordered to appear for arraignment at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in St. Albans.

The affidavit of probable cause will be filed with the court and made public following Goodwin’s arraignment.
