LYNDONVILLE, VT — A Derby woman faces charges after allegedly providing false information to police following a single-vehicle crash.
Melissa Poplin, 39, of Derby, was cited on charges of false information to a police officer and criminal driving with a suspended license.
The Lyndonville Police Department received a complaint Feb. 3 that a woman drove off the road and got stuck at 512 Back Center Road.
The driver initially left the scene before patrol officers arrived.
Upon further investigation, police located Poplin.
She initially provided false information about who was driving, claiming that a juvenile was operating the vehicle, according to police.
It was determined that Poplin operated the vehicle under criminal suspension at the time of the collision.
Poplin was cited into Caledonia Superior Court with an arraignment scheduled for April 27 at 8:30 a.m.
