ROSENDALE, NY — A traffic stop on Interstate 87 led to the arrest of an Albany man on weapons charges Jan. 28, 2026.
Members of Troop F Community Stabilization Unit observed a 2025 Nissan traveling southbound on Interstate 87 at approximately 12:29 p.m. in violation of multiple New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws.
Troopers initiated a traffic stop and interviewed the driver and sole occupant, identified as Daizion L. Conners, 27, of Albany.
During the investigation, it was determined that Conners did not possess a valid driver’s license and was in possession of a loaded, illegal Raven Arms .22 caliber handgun.
Conners was placed under arrest and transported to State Police Highland for processing without incident.
Conners was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree, loaded firearm, a class C felony; criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree, previous conviction, a class D felony; criminal possession of a firearm, a class C felony; and multiple uniform traffic tickets.
Conners was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court, where bail was set at $50,000 cash, $100,000 bond, or $150,000 partially secured bond.
He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Rosendale Court on Feb. 12, 2026, at 5 p.m.
