WAREHAM, MA — A 27-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault to murder after a stabbing at a local bar early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to Steven’s Lounge at 201 Onset Avenue at approximately 12:38 a.m. on Feb. 2, 2026, for a reported disturbance with someone possibly stabbed.
When officers arrived, they found large amounts of blood in the bar area and a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Officers provided medical aid to the victim until Wareham EMS arrived on scene.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the victim was transported directly to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.
The Criminal Investigation Division and Patrol Division identified the suspect as Alexx Rezendes, 27, of Wareham.
At approximately 4:36 p.m., detectives and patrol officers located Rezendes at his residence in Wareham.
Rezendes was placed in custody without incident.
He was charged with assault to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Rezendes was held on $10,000 cash bail and was scheduled to be arraigned at Wareham Fourth District Court on Monday.
