Man arrested on retail theft charge in Old Lycoming Township

OLD LYCOMING TOWNSHIP, PA — Lycoming Regional Police arrested a man following a reported retail theft in progress at Weis Market on Lycoming Creek Road on Jan. 17, 2026.

Officers responded to the store and located one of the involved individuals a short distance away after a brief foot pursuit.

Police said two individuals attempted to leave the store with shopping carts full of unpaid merchandise valued at approximately $1,698.

Trent Evan, 20, of Pennsylvania, was taken into custody and charged with retail theft.

A second suspect fled the area and remains under investigation.

Officers recovered stolen property during the incident.
