Woman arrested on assault charge in East Stroudsburg

EAST STROUDSBURG, PA — A woman accused of pepper-spraying another woman in a store parking lot last summer was arrested Friday.

Mia Willow Rittenhouse was taken into custody by the Stroud Area Regional Police Department at 4:26 p.m. on Jan. 23.

She was transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility.

Police were dispatched to the Home Goods store on July 5 at 12:46 p.m. for a report of a woman who had been pepper sprayed.

Officers found the victim with redness to her facial area and unable to open her eyes.

The victim and a witness told police the incident was unprovoked.

The victim said she was walking through the parking lot when Rittenhouse approached and pepper sprayed her in the face.

The victim told police she had an argument the previous day with Rittenhouse and her boyfriend.

The victim was transported by EMS to a hospital for treatment.

Rittenhouse left the scene before police arrived.
