COLCHESTER, VT — Two people have died following a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Roosevelt Highway and Coon Hill Road.
Colchester Emergency Communications Center received multiple 911 calls at approximately 6:09 p.m. reporting the crash.
Officers arriving on scene found three vehicles involved with several occupants trapped.
Fire Department personnel from Colchester and Saint Michael’s College worked to free the trapped persons.
Colchester Rescue was assisted by ambulance crews from Milton, Essex, UVM, and St Michael’s College in treating and transporting the five injured occupants to UVM Medical Center.
Two occupants died at the hospital.
The other three occupants’ injuries are being assessed by medical personnel.
Colchester Police are being assisted in the investigation by Vermont State Police Crash Reconstruction Team and Milton Police.
Roosevelt Highway remains closed.
