SHELTON, CT — A police officer rescued two children from a burning home on Liberty Street on Thursday.
Shelton Emergency Communications received multiple 911 calls reporting a structure fire in the area of Liberty Street on Jan. 23.
Officer Gidden arrived to find the residence fully engulfed in flames.
Gidden immediately made contact and successfully removed two children from the residence.
He confirmed that no additional occupants or animals remained inside and rendered aid to the children until emergency medical personnel arrived.
Shelton EMS, Shelton Fire Department, and mutual aid partners from Derby Fire Department, Seymour Fire Department, and surrounding agencies responded, containing and ultimately extinguishing the fire without further incident.
