Man arrested on child endangerment charges in Bath

BATH, NY — A 31-year-old man was arrested Jan. 9 on felony charges after police investigated a report he attempted to prostitute his 7-year-old daughter in exchange for methamphetamine.

Members of the Village of Bath Police Department located and arrested Deven L. Miller of Bath at approximately 6:22 p.m.

Miller is charged with one count of criminal solicitation in the third degree, a class E felony, one count of promoting prostitution in the first degree, a class B felony, and one count of use of a child in a sexual performance, a class C felony.

The arrest followed a lengthy investigation into a report received by the Village of Bath Police Department.

Miller was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment proceedings, where he remains held without bail.

Police determined during the investigation that Miller does not have custody of his daughter and that the child was not victimized.
