CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Police arrested a man accused of breaking into a home and killing a pet snake on Jan. 21.
Nicholas Lee Faux, of Sellersville, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody following the afternoon incident in the 600 block of Wood Street.
Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress involving a home invasion.
A resident told police that an acquaintance of her roommate unlawfully entered the residence after shattering a rear sliding glass door.
The roommate had cut off communications with the suspect two days prior to the incident.
The suspect proceeded to the second floor of the home and entered a bedroom, where he killed the victim’s pet snake.
The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived.
Detectives identified both the suspect and the vehicle through surveillance video footage.
Faux was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, aggravated cruelty to animals and related offenses.
He was arraigned and is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $50,000 cash bail.
