IRASBURG, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a Newport man on drunken driving charges Tuesday evening after his vehicle went off the road.
Police received a report at 5:06 p.m. Jan. 14 of a vehicle off the roadway on U.S. Route 5 near the Cooks Road intersection.
The operator was identified as Christian Poulin, 25, of Newport.
Police said Poulin displayed indicators of impairment.
Poulin was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving with a criminally suspended license.
He was released on a citation to appear in court.
