Pedestrian killed in West Seneca crash

WEST SENECA, NY — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Friday morning on Center Road.

Officers responded to the area of Center Road, east of Dutchess Drive, at approximately 5:04 a.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Emergency medical personnel located a female pedestrian who had sustained critical injuries.

Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim was an 86-year-old woman from West Seneca.

Her name is not being released pending family notification.

The driver involved is a 37-year-old man from West Seneca.

He remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Center Road was temporarily closed while officers conducted an on-scene investigation.

The West Seneca Police Department Accident Investigation Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

No charges have been filed at this time.
