LEVANT, ME — A Bangor woman died following a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Union Street and Stetson Road East.
The Penobscot County Regional Communications Center received a report of the crash at 4:18 p.m. on Jan. 14.
The crash occurred in front of Ollie’s Market.
Witnesses reported a lone vehicle had struck a tree head-on.
First responders rendered aid to the driver, identified as Libby Toothaker, 28, of Bangor.
Levant Fire and Rescue transported Toothaker to Northern Light Medical Center in Bangor.
Toothaker later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and completed a reconstruction of the crash.
The Levant Fire Department, Hermon Fire Department and Northern Light Medical Transport assisted the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation.
