Man arrested on felony charge in Bath

BATH, NY — A local man was arrested following an investigation into alleged sexual messages sent to a disabled person.

Mark E. Allen, 53, of Bath, was charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person in the first degree, a class E felony.

The Bath Police Department said the charges stem from an investigation that revealed Allen had exchanged sexual messages and images with a victim who is incapable of proper consent due to disabilities.

Allen was arrested Jan. 7.

He was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail to await centralized arraignment.
