HO-HO-KUS, NJ — A coyote was spotted on the east side of town in the area of Boiling Springs Road and East Saddle River Road this past weekend, according to the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department.

Police released a photo showing the animal in the area.

Residents are advised to keep small pets leashed and supervised.

Police warn residents not to feed or approach coyotes.

Residents should secure trash, pet food and bird seed.

If a coyote is encountered, people should make loud noises, wave their arms and appear large, police said.
