HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — An 83-year-old man died following a single-vehicle crash on Harding Highway on Monday.
The Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to Harding Highway in the area of Nineteenth Street at approximately 11:40 a.m. for a report of a motor vehicle crash.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2020 Cadillac Escalade operated by Leonard Spaeth Jr., of Mays Landing, was heading west on Harding Highway when he left the roadway and collided with multiple trees.
Spaeth was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Traffic was diverted for approximately two hours.
Assisting on scene was the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad, AtlantiCare Paramedics, Mays Landing and Laureldale Fire Departments as well as the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the Township of Hamilton Police Department Traffic Unit.
