Vehicle thefts reported in New Canaan

NEW CANAAN, CT — Two vehicles have been stolen in the past two days from gas stations in town, police said.

The thefts occurred at Mobil and Acme stations, according to the New Canaan Police Department.

Both vehicles were left unlocked with engines running when they were taken, police said.

Police are reminding residents to always turn off their vehicles, lock them and take their keys, even when making quick stops.

The thefts occurred during daytime hours at public locations, police said.

Residents are urged not to engage with suspects and to contact police immediately if they witness suspicious activity.
