Man arrested on warrants in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A man was arrested on outstanding felony warrants after fleeing from police on Dec. 26.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon responded to a report of a suspicious person on the east side of the city at approximately 5:10 p.m.

The caller reported that a male was on their porch and they did not recognize him.

Upon arrival, officers located an individual matching the provided description.

Officers attempted to conduct a street check, at which time the subject fled on foot.

The subject entered his residence while fleeing in an attempt to evade officers.

Officers were able to locate the male inside his residence and took him into custody.

The individual was identified as Deven J. Colburn, of Jamestown.

Further investigation found that Colburn had outstanding felony warrants issued by Jamestown City Court.

Colburn was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he is being held pending arraignment.

In addition to the outstanding felony warrants, Colburn was charged with resisting arrest.
