HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Philadelphia man was arrested after police responded to a burglary in progress late Tuesday night.
Officers from the Township of Hamilton Police Department were called to the 1400 block of Underhill Court at approximately 11:50 p.m.
The caller provided a description to police communications and later witnessed the suspect run into a nearby wooded area.
Officers quickly arrived on scene and established a perimeter for containment purposes.
A police K9 was deployed and began searching for the suspect, who was apprehended a short time later without incident.
The suspect was identified as Quaashie Gary, 27, of Philadelphia.
Gary was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal attempt and fourth-degree criminal trespassing.
He was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility in lieu of bail.
