RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Police are investigating a possible child luring attempt that occurred Tuesday morning in a residential neighborhood.
Patrol units responded to Ellington Road at 11:29 a.m. after receiving a report of a suspicious incident involving a child.
A male driver stopped his vehicle in front of a residence and offered candy to a child who was playing in the front yard, according to police.
An adult from the residence made their presence known, and the suspicious person fled the scene without making further contact with the child.
Patrol units arrived in the area within minutes and attempted to locate the suspicious person and vehicle.
Police are not releasing additional information as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Ridgewood Police Department.
