Man charged in shooting in Freehold

FREEHOLD, NJ — A man from Freehold Borough has been charged with a shooting incident that took place in the same town, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Friday.

Jordan Woolfolk, 20, has been charged with two counts of first-degree Attempted Murder, along with single counts of second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (handgun), second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and third-degree Hindering.

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, at approximately 1:26 a.m., members of the Freehold Borough Police Department responded to Jackson Street for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers discovered one victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The female victim was transported to a local hospital where she received medical treatment for her injury.

A second victim was transported to the hospital, treated and released for a non-life threatening injury.

An investigation by members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Freehold Borough Police Department identified Woolfolk as the individual responsible for the shooting incident.

Woolfolk was located and arrested later that same day.

Woolfolk was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution where he is being held pending his first appearance in Monmouth County Superior Court.

The case is assigned to Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Matthew Bogner, Director of the Major Crimes Bureau.

Information regarding Woolfolk’s representation was not immediately available.
