BALDWINSVILLE, NY — New York State Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a vehicle that may have been involved in a fatal hit-and-run early Saturday morning.
On Dec. 7, at approximately 5:50 a.m., patrols were dispatched to Downer Street in the Village of Baldwinsville for a report of a woman lying in the roadway.
Responding units located the woman in the eastbound driving lane.
She was deceased and had injuries consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle.
Investigators learned the woman had been walking from a nearby Dunkin Donuts at approximately 5:39 a.m.
Surveillance video and interviews indicate it would have taken her about two minutes to walk from that location to where she was found.
State Police are still in the process of making notifications to next of kin.
State Police have obtained video footage of a vehicle traveling eastbound on Downer Street around the time of the incident.
Due to the speed and lighting conditions, the images are blurred, but the car appears to be a light-colored sedan.
Anyone who recognizes the vehicle or who may have been in the area and seen the incident is asked to contact State Police at (315) 366-6000.
