JAMESTOWN, NY — A city man faces charges after allegedly fleeing from police officers on foot.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Broadhead Avenue at approximately 12:45 p.m. Dec. 2 when they observed Mark R. Burch Jr., 32, of Jamestown, who was known to have active warrants through both the Jamestown Police Department and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers attempted to apprehend Burch, but he ignored commands to stop and led officers on a foot pursuit before being caught and taken into custody, police said.
Burch was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was held pending arraignment on a charge of resisting arrest, in addition to his outstanding warrants.
Burch was subsequently remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
